This is me
I am Carol, I qualified as a teacher in 1996 and after working within education for some years, in 2014 I left the classroom and completed the Children's Disability Council training to become an independent support worker for IS Kent. In this role I supported over 400 families to negotiate the legal process of obtaining an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).. Sadly after 4 years this job ended due to removal of funds. Realising the need for parents and young people to be supported I am now offering this service.
I am also a parent of a child with Special Educational needs and have first hand experience of the difficulties faced trying to get the right education for those with SEND and my experience as a teacher helps me understand some of the issues faced in the classroom,
